April 29, 2015 – Sherman+Reilly, a Textron Inc. company, has released a new line of termination tools, comprised of battery-powered and low-pressure hydraulic cutters and crimpers.
These tools have been built with 5-pole motors, “corrosion-protected circuit boards, and high-impact resistant housings”, Sherman+Reilly said. They also utilize a Makita 4.0A hour battery platform that provides the tool users with a 25% increase in available power over previous platforms, according to the company.
Automatic Trigger-Release Motor Braking for control of the crimp or cut was also integrated as well as Intelli-CRIMP technology into the crimpers. Another new feature is the i-Press interface, which provides maintenance reports and real-time, on -screen read outs—all through a USB sensing eye connected to a computer.
