December 17, 2014 – The 2015 Ram 1500 capitalizes on its fuel-saving systems, including eight-speed automatic transmission, stop-start system, thermal management system, pulse-width modulation (fuel-saving technology that reduces parasitic electrical load) and active aerodynamics with grille shutters, and air suspension.
The 3.0L EcoDiesel powerplant is a turbocharged 60° DOHC 24-valve V-6 producing 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, which gives the truck 9200 lb of towing capacity while delivering 28 highway mpg. Like the 3.6L Pentastar V-6 and 5.7L HEMI V-8 gas engines already offered on the Ram 1500, the EcoDiesel V-6 is mated to the TorqueFlite 8 transmission.
For 2015 Ram 1500s in SLT (with Luxury Group) and Laramie get a new instrument panel welcome screen with high-quality, model-specific digital graphics. The pickup is backed with a 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty.
