July 12, 2024 | By Anthony Capkun

July 12, 2024 – In a joint recall with Health Canada and the U.S. CPSC, Best Lighting Products is recalling high-bay LED light fixtures due to fire hazard.

The recall involves the LEDFHB line of fixtures in the following wattages:

90W, 105W, 135W, 178W, 180W, 215W, 265W, 320W, 425W

The fixtures are typically used in commercial settings such as warehouses and facilities with high ceilings.

The following model numbers are included in this recall:

LEDFHB90 • LEDFHB105 • LEDFHB135 • LEDFHB178 • LEDFHB180 • LEDFHB215 • LEDFHB265 • LEDFHB320 • LEDFHB425

The model name and number can be found on a label on the back of the recalled fixtures.

The issue: Plastic pins securing the LED board can degrade, allowing the energized board to come loose and contact the lens or combustible materials, posing a fire hazard.

Best Lighting says 19,100 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada, and 710,600 sold in the United States from May 2017 to May 2024.

The units were manufactured in China, Vietnam, and Malaysia, and imported by Best Lighting Products Inc. of Pataskala, Ohio.

As of July 3, 2024, the company has received no reports of fire or injury in Canada. In the United States, the company has received three reports of fire and no reports of injury.

Are you affected? You are advised to immediately stop using the recalled products, inspect the fixture and contact Best Lighting Products to schedule a free inspection and onsite repair.

N.B. The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold, or even given away in Canada.
