April 10, 2013 – Prescolite says it has introduced the industry’s first 12,000 lumen 8-in. recessed LED downlight that is suitable for difficult-to-light, high-ceiling applications in architectural spaces. The MegaLum features 75 lumens per watt efficacy, and is a suitable replacement for T4 quartz (up to 500W), metal halide (up to 250W) and induction, says the Hubbell company. MegaLum promises new levels of design flexibility and control-ability for ceiling heights of up to 60 feet, and features a driver and light engine that are completely accessible from above or below the ceiling for ease of serviceability.
