Osram Sylvania has achieved 1650 lumens for a 24W PAR 38 LED lamp, resulting in ‘unmatched light output, efficacy, and color rendering,’ according to a recent test report from a CALiPER-certified testing facility–setting a new lighting industry record for PAR 38 lamps of any type. Designed to replace a 100W halogen PAR 38, Osram says the new lamp lasts 10 times longer, with a rated life of 25,000 hours. It also has a colour temperature of 3000K and a colour rendering index (CRI) of 92. Its applications include down lighting and spot lighting in residential and commercial spaces.
