Optelian introduced its new OMS-719 optical networking platform that promises low power consumption; the multi-reach (Access Metro and Long-haul) platform offers a compact footprint and high port density. In addition to its portfolio of DWDM and CWDM solutions, Optelian recently added ROADM, Muxponders, OTN and ethernet VLAN switching to its LightGAIN optical networking system. Optelian is increasing its DWDM channel count to eighty, adding higher-powered amplifiers and multi-degree ROADMs, as well as a variety of new Muxponder configurations. The OMS-719 universal platform supports all of these new capabilities, and conforms to both North American and ETSI mounting standards.
