April 19, 2013 – At Lightfair 2013, Hubbell Lighting says it will demonstrate what it calls the industry’s highest-output LED downlight solution—the 12,000 lumen Prescolite MegaLum—by integrating heat pipe technology into the fixture. And, to extend the lift of the fixture, Hubbell’s Kurt Versen brand has engineered a modular fixture platform named MultiSource that incorporates plug-n-play connectors that accept a variety of illumination technologies. The heat pipe technology transfers heat away from the LED’s driver at speeds more than 10x faster than conduction systems, says Hubbell. The recessed downlight is available in multiple configurations and compatible with Wi-HUBB. Simplifying maintenance, the downlight’s driver and light engine are completely accessible from above or below the ceiling plane for convenient serviceability.
