July 12, 2010 | By

Bulbrite introduced Bug Lighting, its line of standard light sources designed to repel bugs. Available in compact fluorescent and standard incandescent lamps, the lights can be used for outdoor security fixtures, downlights and portables. Both styles have a bright yellow finish to repel insects. According to the release, the CFL Bug Light offers “75% energy savings and lasts eight times longer than standard incandescents.” The minimum starting temperature of the CFL is approximately -18 Celsius, and is a 15-watt A19 shape with an E26 base. The incandescent comes in four wattages: 25-, 40-, 60- and 100-watt A19 versions with E26 bases. Both run on a 120-volt lighting system, have a CRI of 82, and an average life of 6,000 hours.
