July 25, 2024 – AD associates from across North America gathered in June for a Giving Back event in support of Case for Smiles.

The volunteer organization was founded in 2007 to bring comfort and support to young patients and their families, initially through “whimsical pillowcases that give children an emotional boost, and remind them that they are not defined by their illness”.

35 volunteers from Case for Smiles came to AD headquarters in Wayne, Pa., to facilitate the Giving Back event where associates pinned and sewed over 160 pillowcases and made over 160 “coping” boxes (each box was filled with toys, games, and resources to help families).

At the end, AD presented Case for Smiles with a check for over $15,000, which was fundraised and donated by AD associates.

“At AD, serving others isn’t just something we do; it’s at the core of our mission,” said AD chair and CEO, Bill Weisberg. “Our Giving Back Committee is dedicated to giving our associates opportunities to volunteer and make a real impact in our local communities year-round.”

AD is the largest contractor and industrial products wholesale purchasing cooperative in North America. Its independent owners/members span 14 divisions across three countries.
