AFL’s LightGuard aerial closures now rodent-resistant

March 4, 2013 | By Anthony Capkun

March 4, 2013 – AFL has incorporated a non-toxic, anti-rodent concentrate into the plastic pellets used in moulding its aerial closures, saying the new additive will not harm animals or the environment, but its unpleasant taste will deter them from chewing on closures. AFL says its family of aerial weathertight splice closures is designed to provide a cost-effective solution for aerial splicing in a variety of outside plant applications. All aerial closures have been designed to be installed without the need for special tools, heat, adhesives, drills or any powered equipment.
